Mice and dragonfly key

Two mice and a dragonfly sat on a key, from the Beastie Assemblage series by Linda Lovatt.

‘Created from copper and fragments of the past.’

A sweet mice and dragonfly ornament composed on an old key.

These two cuties are made from embossed copper sheet with a pretty china ear, they have twisted brass tails and whiskers with a mother of pearl button detail. Then finished in crystalline verdigris and mounted on a vintage iron key with a dragon fly charm and handmade porcelain flower. They are 70mm from top to bottom.

“Whilst digging my garden I found old bits of china in the soil, they were like pieces of buried treasure to me. So I started making these little beasties with them using some scraps of copper from my husband’s workshop. Now I search around antique and vintage shops looking for chipped teacups and lonely saucers to supplement my garden finds.”
